Bear-like strength

Inspired by the bear-like strength of Barrett Breznik, Birdies for Barrett brings our community together on the golf course to champion individuals with Down syndrome and fund life-changing lifespan services through Down Syndrome Innovations.

Barrett Thomas Breznik was happily welcomed into the world on August 5, 2025, by his parents, Ashley and Wesley Breznik; their “most perfect boy," with dark blue, almond-shaped eyes and the perfect blend of the two people who loved him most. Born with Down syndrome, Barrett faced medical complications and surgeries from the start, but he met every challenge with the quiet, unwavering resilience his name promised. Barrett means “bear-like strength," and he lived up to it every single day of his eight months of life.

From the very beginning, his life became a ministry of teaching and compassion. He turned every room into a place of sanctuary, brought people together, and taught his family to embrace the unexpected and trust deeply. He was tenderly held by his parents as he returned to be with Jesus on March 27, 2026. As Ashley and Wesley said, no matter the outcome, Barrett wins either way.

Birdies for Barrett is part of his legacy. It is our way of ensuring his story spreads far and wide and the community he was so proudly a part of continues to be championed. All proceeds will benefit Down Syndrome Innovations, a nonprofit organization that provides life-changing support and services to people with Down syndrome, empowering them to live to their fullest potential.
